1/19/09 My First Post

My husband recently asked me if I wanted to start a blog about our daughter “Renny,” who has spina bifida.  I am not much of writer nor one who likes to sit at the computer doing this type of stuff, but I also had been wanting to get down my memories and thoughts about our experiences with our daughter before I began to forget them.  I also know that some of our friends and family like to be updated about Renny, so this was a way they could check up on things whenever they wanted.  Hopefully I will do well at keeping them updated!

So far, I have created some pages to the right that tell the history of our daughter, beginning with our 20-week ultrasound, when we first learned about her disability, followed by her birth, a short note about God’s will in regards to all of this, and a summary of the implications of spina bifida in her first year and a half of her life.  A lot has happened in these two years since we first learned about Renny – too much to write down everything – but I have tried to sum it up as best as I could.

I hope you enjoy reading about our journey with Renny.

    Tera and Tony,
This Blog is outstanding! I just read all of it and I cried. I remember all of those days – before Rennie’s birth and since. She is truly a miracle and even though I once stood and cried while holding her in our family room when she was a baby, I no longer worry like I did then. She is beautiful and “perfect”. God will protect her!
    Love, Mom

I believe Renny is a miracle child who is being used by God so that his glory might shine forth. What a spirit! Look at those eyes! There are many miracles and blessings yet to come in Renny’s life. I love her dearly, and know that no matter what, Jesus will always be with her, and will continually strengthen her and all those who love her. Thank-you Lord for the privilege of being even a small part of this beautiful child’s life. I will continually pray for a total healing in her body, in Jesus’ name. But above all things, THINE will be done for the glory of that which is to come. I love you Renny, I love all of you. This blog is a great idea! Grandma Horv.

Very nice idea, this site. My greatest concern for Renny, as is for all my children and grand children, has always been for their happiness. Much can be said about a persons health or wealth, but the fact is there are many that have both and are incredibly unhappy. It has been my delight that Renny shows great confidence, happiness, and excitement in her eyes and in her actions. It is clear she is a happy child, and we pray a happy adult.I believe anyone that is facing a similar situation will be able to draw strength from what her mom and dad have done in creating this site and telling Renny’s story. Kudos to mom & dad! Love, Grandpa.

Renny is a perfect, beautiful, sweet girl! A more beautiful child could not be found. I think that has to do with the wonderful parents, big brothers and grandparents that Renny is blessed to have. This little girl will truly live life and not even know that she has a “disability”! She is a true blessing! She and your family are always in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you Tera for putting together such a beautiful and heart-felt site. Thank you Tera for being you – Renny is a junior you!!

And yes googling can be bad(I tell my patients that too) I relate! I adore Renny and want to see her and Wy grow up together and play together. I look forward to reading this book Tony.
